The Honourable Scott Brison joined BMO as Vice-Chair, Investment & Corporate Banking in 2019. As an elected Member of Parliament, Scott served the constituency of Kings-Hants (Nova Scotia) who elected him to Canada’s House of Commons seven consecutive times over 21 years. During that time, he served in government for seven years holding key roles, most recently as President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Digital Government from 2015 to 2019, Minister of Public Works and Government Services from 2004 to 2006, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister with special emphasis on Canada-U.S. relations from 2003 to 2004.
In June 2020, Mr. Brison became Dalhousie University’s eighth chancellor.
Mr. Brison is a member of the Trilateral Commission and was named by the World Economic Forum of Davos, Switzerland, as one of its “Young Global Leaders.” In August 2010, he was awarded the Order of San Carlos by Colombian President Álvaro Uribe in recognition of his contributions to the Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
Mr. Brison serves on the board of Universal Rail Systems, Bond Resources Inc., the Canada- China Business Council, the Dalhousie University Board of Governors, the Macdonald Stewart Foundation, CJPAC, the advisory board of the Canadian American Business Council, Power Sustainable, High Liner Foods Inc. and previously served as Chairman of SeaFort Capital Inc.
Mr. Brison earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University. He has completed the Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century Executive Education Program at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.

Martin Cauchon’s unparalleled experience in government and the private sector has given him a deep understanding of a wide range of issues. Mr. Cauchon also facilitates the creation of partnerships at the provincial, national, and international levels.
Having established relationships with several counterparts in China, Martin Cauchon has acquired a good knowledge of that market, which allows him to intervene in projects that are related to the Canada-China relationship.
After obtaining a law degree from the University of Ottawa, Mr. Cauchon became a member of the Quebec Bar in 1985 and completed a master degree in International Business Law in 1991, at the University of Exeter, in England. He was the 2004 recipient of the Equality Forum’s International Role Model Award. In 2015, he received the honorary distinction of “Advocatus emeritus” and “Le Mérite” from the Quebec Bar. Laura Hewitt is the Vice-President of Government and Regulatory Affairs at Sun Life. Ms. Hewitt is a seasoned public affairs professional with experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors. In her current role, she is responsible for Sun Life’s government and regulatory affairs activities globally.
Ms. Hewitt joined Sun Life in 2018 as the Assistant Vice-President (AVP) of Government and Regulatory Affairs for Sun Life Canada. In 2019, she also took on an acting role with added accountability for sustainability, including the implementation of the organization’s sustainability strategy and reporting. Most recently, Ms. Hewitt was the AVP of Pharmaceutical Benefits and Innovation at Sun Life. In this position she led a team of pharmacists and product experts to evolve drug benefit plans and help employers navigate the changing health benefits landscape in Canada.
Prior to joining Sun Life, Ms. Hewitt worked in government relations, corporate outreach and strategy at Export Development Canada, a federal crown corporation responsible for supporting Canada’s exporters. She has also held positions with the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada, in a variety of subject matter areas, including economic development, tourism and national defence.
Ms. Hewitt is currently a Board Member with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. She holds a Master’s degree from Ryerson University’s Public Policy and Administration program and a Bachelor’s of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University.

Constantine Karayannopoulos, a Professional Engineer, is President and CEO of Neo Performance Materials Inc. (“NEO”), a Canadian public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:NEO). He was appointed to this position in July 2020, after serving as NEO’s Chairman since September 2016. As one of the longest serving executives in the rare earth industry, he has worked with multiple governments in Europe, North America and Asia to converge public policy and industrial economics, over the past three decades.
Constantine began the Rare Earth phase of his career in 1994, under the leadership of Peter V. Gundy, who founded Advanced Material Resources Limited (“AMR”) in Toronto the prior year. AMR was the first foreign company allowed into China’s Rare Earth industry with two majority owned operating joint ventures. Constantine moved from Business Development Manager to North American Sales Manager, Global Sales Manager/Chairman of the JVs, VP/General Manager of AMR’s Rare Earth Business Unit and eventually to Chief Operating Officer responsible for both AMR’s divisions, Rare Earths and Magnetic Materials. In 2005, following AMR’s acquisition of Magnequench, Constantine became CEO of the combined company, being renamed to Neo Material Technologies Inc. (“Neo”). Neo established itself as a unique global rare earth specialty value-added materials company and, with strong cash flow and a pristine balance sheet, grew to 11 plants and 1,500 employees globally. In June 2012, Neo was acquired by Molycorp (NYSE-MCP) for Cdn$1.3 billion. Constantine joined the Board of Molycorp in July 2012 as Vice-Chairman. He became interim CEO of Molycorp in December 2012 and Chairman in December 2013. In September 2016, select strategic assets of Molycorp emerged as the distinct business entity Neo Performance Materials, of which Constantine was first appointed Chairman and now serves as CEO. He is also a Director of NEO and serves on the Health, Environment, Safety and Sustainability (HESS) Committee.
Constantine was also co-founder and non-executive Chairman of the Board of Neo Lithium Corp., from 2016 until January 2022.
Constantine is a member of the Advisory Board at the University of Toronto’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, a Director of the Canada China Business Council and a director on the Board of Lithium Royalties Corp., a fund investing in battery materials royalties and streams.
He holds Bachelor and Master of Applied Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Constantine directs most of his charitable work towards education, one of his passions. He is married with three sons and resides in Toronto, Canada.

Prior to joining CCB, Tim worked at EDC and HSBC, where he led global business development activities in mining, energy, financial institutions and real estate. George Monize was recently appointed Vice-President, Global Business Development in September 2022 after joining Export Development Canada (EDC) in 2020 as the Vice-President, Sales Excellence. In his current capacity, George is responsible for EDC’s overseas operations and global offices., which includes key account management and strategic business development activities for all international customers and prospects.
George brings more than 20 years of experience in sales leadership, enablement, payments, and solution development. In his previous role as Vice-President of Sales Excellence at EDC, he led several key areas core to EDC’s function including Sales Enablement, Change Management, Reporting & Analytics, and Product Innovation. Additionally, George founded and chaired EDC’s Black Employee Resource Group (BERG) whose objective is to take a leadership role in promoting inclusion and equity by raising awareness, fostering professional development, and enriching the experience of EDC’s Black community.
Prior to joining EDC, George was the Head of Channel & Partner Relations and chair of the Diversity & Inclusion committee at Chase Merchant Services Canada (a business division of JPMorgan Chase). Pierre Seïn Pyun was appointed Vice President, Government Affairs in October 2011. As such, he leads government relations activities in Canada for Bombardier Inc.
A lawyer by training, Pierre has significant background in international trade, having served with the Canadian federal government from 1998 to 2011. Prior to joining Bombardier, Mr. Pyun managed sector practices and developed and implemented global commercial strategies for the Canadian government in Ottawa. Furthermore, he worked at Canadian diplomatic posts in China from 2001-2009, including as a Senior Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing.
Mr. Pyun holds degrees in Common Law and Civil Law from McGill University and completed a Certificate in International Commerce at the University of Montreal. He is fluent in English, French, Mandarin and Korean.

As Global Head of Banks, Brokers & Exchanges, James has end-to-end responsibility for the sales, service and product delivery of Canadian dollar services to our financial institution partners globally. James also leads our Graduate Rotational Program in Canada, and is heavily involved in mentoring new and high potential employees.
James joined RBC in 2014 and is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in financial markets, including 12 years at Powerex and previously at Infoware Software, the Toronto Stock Exchange and Toronto Dominion Bank. His broad business experience includes transaction banking, client coverage, risk management, commodities trading and corporate finance.
James became a CFA charterholder in 1999 and holds an MBA from the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science from the same institution. He recently completed a certificate in the Foundations of Applied Mindfulness Meditation, is a certified facilitator of the Mindfulness Without Borders program and is a Professional Coach pursuing his Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accreditation. James is a diversity advocate, leading the diversity leadership council for the division in Canada as well as the executive sponsor for the next-gen stream. David Rheault

David Rheault is Vice President of Government and Community Relations at Air Canada. A lawyer by training, he joined Air Canada in 2007 as counsel, litigation.
Mr. Rheault represented Air Canada before courts and administrative tribunals and advised the company on various litigation files in Canada and foreign countries.
Today, in his current role, Mr. Rheault is responsible for the company’s relationships with all levels of governments in Canada as well as Air Canada’s community partnership program. He has been involved in many complex regulatory and policy matters.
Prior to joining Air Canada, he served as policy advisor at the Office of the Premier of Québec and for the Minister of Economic and Regional Development and Research.
After earning a degree from Université Laval Faculty of Law, he was called to the Barreau du Québec in 2000. He practiced commercial litigation and transport law at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg and at Fasken Martineau.
Mr. Rheault sits on the executive committee of the National Airlines Council of Canada and on several boards, including the Canada China Business Council, and the Quebec Federation of Chambers of Commerce.

Bill provides a leadership and governance role on several regulated subsidiary boards within EMEA and Asia, including Bank of Montreal China (Chair), Bank of Montreal Capital Markets Limited, Bank of Montreal Europe and BMO Global Asset Management Europe.
Before joining BMO Capital Markets in 2004, Bill gained 20 years of investment banking experience working in London, Toronto and Tokyo. This included work in fixed income, derivatives, foreign exchange and credit.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Bill is the Chair of the UK’s Association of Foreign Banks, a Vice-President and Director of the Canada–United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce and a member of the University of Toronto’s International Leadership Council.

Paul Towsey is Chartered/Professional Engineer with 25 years of experience in the design and management of steelmaking projects globally. From 2015 to 2017 Mr. Towsey relocated with his family to Beijing to manage Hatch’s Metals portfolio in the China/Asia region. During this period, he regularly dealt with Chinese companies (State Owned and Private), the Canadian Trade Commission and international business groups to promote Hatch and Canadian business. He is currently the Vice General Manager of Hatch’s Joint Venture company Hatch CISDI International and regularly visits Beijing and Chongqing as part of this role.
Mr. Towsey has specialist technical expertise in areas that include the blast furnace and its ancillary components, cokemaking technologies, power generation and waste water.
Mr. Towsey is based in Mississauga, Canada and is responsible for Hatch’s Ironmaking business globally.
